Infinix X557 Hot 4 New XOS OTA Update & Installation Guide On Rooted Device

Good morning my reader, as for the infinix hot 4 X557  smartphone users, you will have been receiving OTA Update through system update since you bought the phone. If you update it frequently good for you because it makes the system more stable and efficient.
This morning, i got another update which was about 500mb and do you know what? My phone is rooted i can’t go on with the update because, it will crash my phone and possibly hard brick. As for those that are yet to root their phone;

  • Go to system update make sure you have enough data on your phone now, start downloading the update.
  • Once you have downloaded it, it will pop up for you to install. Click on install then your phone will turn off  and the updating process will start.

There is no shortcut making the update works even after unroot it, some left over files will still distrupt the process. Then all you need to do is to; reload the Os using spflash tools.
Then how i reload my Os?

Tools Needed

>>Spflash tools download here
>>Download the Stock ROM for X557 Hot 4 Here
>>Es file explorer Download Here

  • Firstly download the OTA update then use es file explorer to access the zip file under cache then move it to your SDcard
  • Extract the downloaded rom to one folder after downloading.
  • Now launch spflash tools click on scatter file choose from the folder you extracted the files to.
  • Everything like preloaded, boot, recovery, will be clicked now untick userdata or else you will loose all your important files
  • Start the flashing process once successful, you will see a yellow popup with 100%

Yipee, you just reloaded your Os now the next thing is to install the OTA update you downloaded earlier.
>>Power up your phone normally then navigate to system update.
>>At the top right corner click the button there you will see install from local navigate to where you copied the update.zip to on your sdcard then select the file.
>>In no time, the phone will power off you will then see XOS logo now, the update installation will start.

Now you have successfully update your device to the latest version
